First Steps Parent Training
Learn about how to encourage your child to play and interact with you.
This course is specifically for parents who are enrolled in Aspire Early Intervention's First Steps Parent Training Program.
in this 12 week course you will learn how to teach your child, how to prevent and manage your child's problem behaviours. You see a senior clinician once a week for 2.5 hours, who will guide you through an individualised program.
In this program you will learn how to teach your child skills, such as play, joint attention, task completion and communication.
This accompanying online course is to further strengthen your theoretical understanding of how to teach. In addition, this course has sample videos of play and natural interaction between parents and children with ASD.
The First Steps program is often used to demonstrate the effectiveness of early intervention when requesting funding from the NDIA (national disability insurance scheme)
